When I started working warrants for probation violaters and fugitives from justice, all the warrants were FELONY/NO BAIL. The perps were pretty elusive charactors. Whenever we found a location that " He isn't here right now" I would leave a copy of the warrant and the address and phone number to call. I would indicate to contact Sgt. Fug. Warr. Meaning the Sgt in Fugitive Warrants. I would tell tehm to take the warrant and go downtown with a family member and straighten this out. I got a call several weeks later from the LT. who commended me for talking these perps into surrendering by walking into the Fugitive Warrant section with a family member AND a copy of the warrant, and asking for Sgt. FugWarr. Which appeared t be a code for surrending with a warrant.
