I'm wondering if anybody has information on drug use & disqualifications? I'm 27 years old, i've someked a total of maybe 5 times in my life, never a regular user. i've only used 2 diferent drugs, marijuana & hash. the last time i smoked marijuana was over 7 years ago, and the only time i smoked a hash joint was 2 years ago while vacationing in europe, this was before i planned on becoming a peace oficer. I was honest with the CHP and automatically disqualified from their hiring process for 10 years. I'm wondering if i would be disqualified from the LASD process also, or any other agency? & what are my chances of becoming a peace officer? When would be a better time to apply to an agency?

I've never been arrested, i have a good credit score and posses a BA degree & a good driving record.

Thank you in advance for any responses.

There is no way to give you a straight up answer unless you just try. I know people who got DQ'd from small things that they did when they were a kid. Then I know some who got in that did worse. Just go through the process and see what happens. Once you pass all the tests, its just up to the recruiting LT.
